Amazon.com is a fast growing company that aspires to become one of the largest booksellers on the Internet. Jeff Bezos started Amazon.com in 1994 with a great idea to sell books over the Internet. As fast as Internet usage was growing,�2300 percent a year�, how could one fail? Bezos states, �anything that�s growing that fast is going to be ubiquitous very quickly. It was my wakeup call� (page c-83). Bezos narrowed twenty possible products he would like to sell, down to one, which were books. He stated, �There are so many of them! There are 1.5 million English-language books in print, 3 million in all languages worldwide. This volume defined the opportunity�.� (page c-83). Bezos decided to take the business to Seattle. The decision to relocate in Seattle may have greatly affected his new business. He gives his reasons for choosing Seattle; ��.it had to be a rigorous set of criteria.
