The book Lord of the Flies written by William Golding is about a group of boys who are stranded on an island. They go from innocent English boys to wild savages. While they lost sight of law and civilization, the boys` copy of society fell apart along with their chance of being rescued. In the beginning of the novel the boys gathered together and made a civilized group like adults. The first day the boys were on the island Piggy found the conch and decided that it represented law and order. Ralph blew into the conch to get all the other boys attention so they could meet on the beach and have an assembly. Whenever anybody wanted to talk during an assembly they needed to have the conch and they couldn�t� talk out of turn. While all the boys were on top of the mountain Jack stated that the conch didn�t count on the top. The other boys didn�t agree with this and decided Jack had broken the rules by speaking out of turn.
