ABSTRACT This autobiographical research paper analyzed the influences of race as it relates to your community. It discusses how two diverse cultures struggle to survive side by side despite the demands of the community to co-exist. Two races are involved in the study namely Tribe A and Tribe B. Both are religiously affiliated to Christianity and Islam, respectively. The locale of the study is a Tribe A-dominated city, which is the more liberated race. Since the author of the study belongs to Tribe B, the conservative race, the conflict lies in that the author was born to a fundamentalist Tribe B family and raised in a Tribe A-dominated society. Therefore, it is a combination of conflicts coming from within and the environment. The author relayed her experiences since childhood to adulthood on the encounters she have had just to survive in a community of diverse cultures --- from her personal life, to family life, in school, and in the community.
