An approach to increasing revenue and profit was the introduction of a new luxury, high-end line of computers called the �xtreme performance system� (XPS). This line has more powerful processors, advanced graphics, and other high-end components. The price for this luxury line ranges from $899 to $5,999, and can climb higher with additional accessories. However, competitors offer similar products at a lower price, diminishing demand for the XPS line. If Dell decreases the price, demand will increase, bringing increased overall profits. If the income of potential customers increases, the small difference in price between Dell and its competitors will become comparatively less. Since Dell has a long history of superb customer service, demand will probably increase with increased income.
