Hinduism 1 Americans were forced to open their eyes to new cultures and a very different landscape that seemed to have crept up on them. The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 allowed all people of the world to enter the borders of the United State of America, and with the immigrants they brought their religious traditions and customs. The presence of the new cultures is very hard to ignore because of their growing numbers. Hinduism is a religion that originated on the Indian subcontinent; it has no known founder and is a conglomerate of different traditions and beliefs. In today�s world it is considered to be the oldest existing religion, and has over a billion members whom majority of which live in India. According to Hindu teaching, there are four basic castes, or social classes. Each caste has its own rules and obligation for living. The elite caste is the Brahman, or priest caste. Second are the Kshatriyas, or warriors and rulers. Third are the Vaisyas, or merchants and farmers. Finally, the fourth caste is the Shudras, or laborers. Outs......
