Against this, Margaret Atwood penned a dystopian novel, The Handmaid�s Tale - commonly lauded as a �feminist 1984� � in which she vehemently reacts to the growing political power of the American religious right, projecting a nightmarish future much to the tune of Orwell�s 1984 and Huxley�s Brave New World.
