Organizational and Societal Functions of Public Relations Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
Abstract
This paper will offer a brief view of both societal as well as organizational functions of public relations. Consumer relations and investor relations I feel to be organizational functions of PR. Social responsibility and publicity are to me, societal functions of public relations. Included are definitions from our assigned text, Internet websites, including the Institute of Public Relations. Finally, I will offer my own personal opinions on how the aforementioned are similar and contrasting.
While there are many functions that a public relations professional serves, on the whole, public relations serves functions within not only the organization it is representing but also to society as a whole.
Investor relations and consumer relations are two organizational functions of public relations that are vital to the PR campaign’s success. Investor and consumer relations can by extension, have an impacting effect on the organization or person altogether.
