The battle of Saratoga in September and October 1777 was a decisive American victory resulting in the surrender of an entire British army invading Saratoga New York from Canada during the American Revolution (the battle of Saratoga). The second and final battle occurred on October 7, 1777. It occurred at an open field in a set of woods near Saratoga New York. The British general john Burgoyne surrendered his troops to American general�s Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold near Saratoga New York.
