The pianist a film about one mans struggle to survive without anything to live for but his music. Vladyslaw Szpilman was a young thriving man when the Nazi Germany anti Semitic ideas started and his home family and everything else was taken from him he manages to overcome all odds and survive and go on to live a great long life with his music. This film was a perfect example of the historical evidence of what happened when Adolf Hitler took power. Władysław Szpilman, a famous Polish Jewish pianist working for the Warsaw radio, sees his whole world collapse with the outbreak of World War II and the invasion of Poland. The year is 1939 and the nightmare is just beginning. After the radio station at which he was working is rocked by explosions, Szpilman goes home to learn on the radio that Great Britain and France have declared war on Germany. Believing the war will end quickly; he and his family rejoice at this news and wonder when all of this will be over.
