James Dewey Watson is best recognized for his studies in molecular biology . He was interested in science at a very young age, and ended up solving one of the scientific world’s greatest misunderstandings. He will be known forever for his discovery of the structure of deoxyribonucleic acid. James Dewey Watson was born on April 6th 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. His father, James Dewey Watson Senior, inspired his love of learning at a very young age. He also instilled in him the love of nature, particularly bird watching. Because of his love of nature, at a very young age he decided to be an Ornithologist. Ornithology is a branch of zoology focusing on birds. His mother, who was an admissions officer at the University of Chicago, also contributed to his intellectuality by often engaging him in debates such as “the extent to which the environment and heredity factors influenced human development”. Watson was a very precocious child who required little prodding from his parents. At an early age he could read up to five hundred words per minute, but he denies being a child prod......
