Antwone Fisher (Derek Luke) is a sailor with an anger-management problem that is threatening to ruin his adult life before it even has the chance to get started. He is an honest and hardworking man who looks to the Navy in hopes of finding a way to better himself, but in first must fight off his angry inner demons that have been displaying themselves in forms of fist fights. After being busted for an assault on a fellow officer, he is ordered to see the ship�s psychiatrist, Dr. Jerome Davenport (Denzel Washington) who is given three sessions to write an evaluation to the superior officers recommending whether or not Antwone is psychologically fit to continue his services with the Navy Forces. Although Antwone resents the referral, but he knows that there was nothing they could do beyond forcing him to show up for the treatments, and that the rest, was up to him. Dr. Davenport handles Antwone�s case very delicately, like a game of chess, he patiently waits him out knowing that even with all the protests, that Antwone really does wants to talk.
