Corporate Social Responsibility Debate Corporate social responsibility says that businesses should be liable for the impact that their actions make on people, communities, and the environment. The concept of CSR has been around for nearly a century, and is still a subject of debate in business today. Should businesses have to make decisions in the best interest of society? Or should businesses make decisions that maximize profits? There are powerful arguments on both sides of the debate. It is widely believed that corporations and firms should act ethically, just as any human should.
