People make decisions everyday, both conscious and subconscious. As the importance of the decision increases, our beliefs and values take over and assist us in making the appropriate choice. Our personal, organizational, and cultural values all factor into the decision-making process and the choices we make. In fact, personal, organizational, and cultural values overlap and combine to influence our personal and professional decisions. Personal values stem from family, education, religion, and real-life experience. Family instills the foundation for our beliefs, ethics, and values. From an early age, I was taught to be honest, kind, trustworthy, and patient.
