In 1949 he received a Masters Degree at Stanford University in Psychology, and in 1952 received his Ph.D. at Harvard University in social psychology in 1952. At the present he is Sloan Fellows Professor of Management Emeritus and continues at the Sloan School part time as a Senior Lecturer.
