Ma Joad, Tom Joad�s mother in The Grapes of Wrath was one of the strongest characters in the whole book. She thinks of others before herself; she is a truly good person. She held her family together when almost all hope was lost. Even though she loves her family, she steps p and stops letting Pa make all the decisions In the beginning of the book, Tom Joad, Ma Joad�s son, came to her house after just getting out of jail. Ma welcomed him with open arms. �Let �em come��We got plenty. Tell �em they got to wash their han�s. The bread is done.
