This paper will be explaining benchmarking and the different types of benchmarking that are being used today. It will also be exploring the ethics and code of conduct that companies must adhere to because of privacy acts and laws that are laid out to protect companies and their internal confidential files. A basic definition of benchmarking is the comparison of one�s company or processes to others in the same industry. This research is to find out how one�s company�s performance levels compare to other companies that carry out the same activities. This comparison is usually based of the top competitors in the industry to see what they are doing right and what you are doing wrong. There are many different ways companies use benchmarking to help meet a range of requirements for improvement.
