The Webster dictionary defines the word inclusion as “an act of including or being included.” Over the past few years, the inclusion model of education is one of the strategies many schools around out nation have been practicing for education students with special needs. Many people state, “the children are future,” so educators should provide children with the education all students deserve. Students, who are qualified for the inclusion program, are placed in a general education classroom and are provided special accommodations to meet their individual needs. Even as the inclusion program has been implemented in many schools, society is unaware of the progress that disabled and non-disabled students have integrated. Inclusion does not mean “dumping” a disabled student into a general education classroom without support or services to help them succeed. Inclusion occurs when students with disabilities receive their entire academic curriculum in the general education program.
