Mother Teresa Mother Teresa father Nicola Bajaxhiu was much older than his wife Drone. When they got married Nicola was 34 and Drone was only 16. At the beginning of the 20th century Nicola and Drone moved from Shkodra in northern Albania to a small city called Skopje, where they had three children. Lazer, who was born in 1908. Then Mother Teresa (Agnes), who was born in 1910 and Agatha who was born in 1913. Mother Teresa was born on the 26th of August 1910 in Shkodra. Her Christian name was Agnes. Agnes was baptised on the 27th of August. She had her first holy communion at the age of five followed by her confirmation in November a year later. Agnes childhood was a happy one. Nicola worked as a pharmacist while Drone stayed home. Her family lived in a nice house with a garden and a small guest house. Not far from were they lived was a catholic chapel. Drone and the children would go to mass every morning. Agnes was a bright religious child. She would never tattle on her siblings when they were doing forbidden things.
