The best way to respond to the pain of �bottoming out� is to become optimistic and to be motivated to achieve a previous level of contentment that has, in one way or another, slipped out of reach.� �Bottom� is an emotional and physical state that one may encounter in their lives as a result of personal strife, negative interactions with others, disastrous situational events or a variety of indirect or incidental influences. In short, as a state it can be caused by anyone of a number of different factors. A good sign that someone has reached the �bottom� comes when life itself seems unbearable, there is nothing good to look forward to and nothing at all brings happiness or pleasure.
