Hinduism: Sanatana Dharma Sanatana Dharma or what is wrongly called Hinduism is the third largest religion in the world after Christianity and Islam. The word �Hinduism� is an umbrella term referring to the people living �on the other side of the Sindhu river� (Prakasa, 2006, � 4). There are about one billion Hindus. Approximately 890 of them live in India. Other countries that have large Hindu populations are Bangladesh, Fiji, Guyana, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nepal, Singapore, South Africa, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago. Sanatana Dharma is thought to be the oldest existing religion in the world (Wikipedia, 2007, � 1). The meaning of Sanatana Dharma is �eternal or ageless religion (Fisher, 2005, p. 69). Sanatana Dharma is not viewed so much as a religion as it is a way of life. As Chief Justice P.B.
