Flippers and Goggles With high school quickly becoming a thing of the past and the first day of college fast approaching, an out-of-town adventure was in great need to temporarily pause reality. So my mom, my two best friends, and I pulled out our suitcases and started packing. Nothing could feel better than just getting away. The humidity in Fort Lauderdale was enough to knock the breath out of us as we loaded up our rental car, a beautiful and sleek silver 2007 Cadillac. The airport was swarming with out-of-towners, all bustling to find their luggage, loved ones, or an unoccupied taxi. As Eric, December, and I chatted endlessly about our new exciting surroundings, my mother strained to hear the GPS as it spit out turn after turn in an attempt to locate the �resort� we had made reservations at.
