Stress among teenagers is becoming very common among today�s teenagers. A survey took in a local high school in 2002 said that 70% of the 815 students who participated were stressed out. There are so many things in a teenager�s life that leads to stress such as: school, poor self-image, problems among peers, peer pressure, not fitting in, parents, moving, or taking on to many things at one time. All of these issues can lead to more serious problems among teenagers including: eating disorders, teen depression, or alcohol and drug abuse. Teenagers are under a lot of pressure to succeed and fit in. Many spend a lot of time worrying about what others think and they desperately try to conform to society's unrealistic "ideal" body image. Teens are lead to believe that if they are thin, they will be accepted. Since many teenagers are constantly buying teen or fashion magazines, the images of tiny models appearing in those magazines only supports their belief that in order to be happy, successful and accepted, they must be thin.
