Mass media are influential features that manipulate society's ideas, positions, and the values that they hold about themselves, people around them and as well as the people of the world. Stereotypes could be identified as a distorted mental image of several types of people, societies or experiences which are shared by great numbers of people. Stereotypes have been presented in our everyday lives, through religion, politics and also through the mass media. People in the media have the tendency to use stereotypes to make jokes of other people that have different beliefs and values. People that study the issue of social cognition believe that the information we learn from the mass media results in the construction of stereotypes that assist us to make things easier in our surrounding environment.
