The book Guns, Germs, and Steel is an interesting book. It talks about the different societies and their interaction with each other and the environment. One pattern is that all the societies evolved near water. Most of the groups had feuds with each other. Like in 1835 the societies of the Chatham islands the Maori and the Moriori. The Moriori wanted peace but the Maori attacked and drew the black sword of death and slaughtered the Moriori with no regards of their attempt of making peace with them. They cooked the people then ate away at their flesh. Another pattern is that the word spread quickly like when the first group domesticated animals soon after they heard every one started to do it. They took ideas of how to survive from one another. It seems as if when technology became more developed the germs became worse. In chapter twelve it says that they established an alphabet or ways to write things down in caves or on material from the animals skin the tribe killed, these letters if you will were called hieroglyphic writing.
