The most common memories that are recalled in country music generally have to do with hanging out with friends, fun on the weekends, drinking alcohol and having a good time. There are also a majority of country songs about relationships; both for the good and for the bad. In more like the rock type of music, the memories usually are not very happy nor from positive aspects. Those artists seem to write about unpleasant scenarios. Although this is not always the case, it seems to be more often than not, at least in the music that I’ve listened too. Popular rock and metal genres also seem to have drugs tied into their lyrics in some way. The popular artists who sing hip- hop or rap have absolutely no respect towards women because all throughout their lyrics they refer to females as bitches, whores or sluts and say that they just want to get with them so get “laid.” Often rappers rap about also getting drunk in clubs and taking intoxicated girls back home with them, “to their crib” as they would say, and have one night stand type of deals.
