Gilgamesh’s relationships with others
Gilgamesh, as a king, relates to a lot of people, at least all the people in his country. But from the story, we can see that although the number of people is huge, but the variety is pretty small. Everyone in his relationship network connects to what happened and what will happen to Gilgamesh tightly. Gilgamesh is their leader, friend, or servant. Although his relation to all of them remains the same, his attitude changed gradually from two points-Enkidu’s appear, and his death. To express my statements much easier and clearer, I would like to divide it into 3 big parts-Gilgamesh’s relationship with others before Enkidu entered the picture, during the time period when Enkidu is alive, and after Enkidu’s death.
Gilgamesh’s story begins with introducing Gilgamesh by others. It talks about his contributions to the people, for example “he survived the Great Flood and was made immortal-he brought back the ancient, forgotten rites, restoring the temples that the flood had destroyed, renewing the statutes......
