When one is asked upon the question “what do mathematicians mean by explanation?” the opinions are again split into two ways depending on one’s belief of whether mathematics is an invention or discovery. In detail, people who believe mathematics is an invention interpret the mathematicians’ proof as a way to employ other inventions into the mathematicians’ own proof to eliminate the limitations of the past inventions whereas some people look at mathematicians’ ‘explanation’ as a way to explain a new concept through the use of use past discoveries.
