When he is older he is sent on holiday to Yarmouth with the servant Peggoty. When he returns home he finds that his mother has married a horrible man named Mr Murdstone, this is his new stepfather. David gets sent to a boarding school in London because of biting Mr Murdstone and Mr Steerforth tries to take advantage of him in his new school. Finds out terrible news about someone he loves dearly.

We know this because Mr Mudstone has a very deep and terrifying voice, David noticed this from Mr Murdstone’s visit to their home, before Clara (David’s mum) had even married ......
