Lysias displays literary tact, humour and attention to character in his beautifully written speeches and is famous for using his skill to conceal his art. It was obviously desirable that a speech written for delivery by a client should be suitable to his age, social status and circumstances. Lysias was the first to make this adaptation really artistic. His language is crafted to flow easily and he seems to have a conspicuous display of artistry and a strictly logical manner of argumentation, as well as the forceful oratory of Demosthenes. In his most famous speech, On the Murder of Eratosthenes, Lysias builds a remarkable insight into the relationship between the character he�s writing the speech for and the jurors, who are going to decide upon it. Not only does he make the speech in favor of Euphiletos, but he actually demolishes any other possible alternative the jurors might think of.
