In Europe during the middle ages there was a stage of chaos and disorder. The barbarians had entered the newly formed Carolingian Empire which at the time being was lacking a leader, protection, and trade and because of this as well as lack of unity they easily found ways to put a damper on the civilizations progress. However the barbarians were soon converted to the same way of life as the majority of people, they even turned to Christianity. This formed a hybrid civilization with the interbreeding of the Romans and the Germanic tribes. In this event the empire was less threatened, but this did not help the empire from future invasions and attacks. To solve this problem and others such as lack of governmental leadership, minimal trade, currency, or economic basis, and lack of social structure a new way of life was created. This way of life called feudalism helped to develop Europe politically, economically, and socially.
