The day started out just like any other in the United States of America, people on the east coast were up and going to work, while the people on the west coast were just getting out of bed. Everything in the White House was going about the morning in the usual fashion. People were boarding airplanes, eating, going to school, and working but September 11, 2001 did not turn out to be just a normal day, it was the day when America was attacked by terrorists. The attack was a large scale attack mostly in New York city, but the damage was felt all over the world and created an aftermath unlike any other, it lead into the War Against Terror. A total of four Commercial Airliners were hijacked by what we know is Al-Quaeda Terrorist. Lisa Gordon-Hagerty, the Director for combating Terrorism on the National Council staff at the White House recorded the following time of the attacks. One aircraft, full of passengers was taken under the control of the terrorist and at 8:46am, American Airlines Flight 11 was flown into the North Tower of the World Trade Center building.
