They consisted of social interaction, language and communication and since then these characteristics still receive the main focus, although the methods used to teach communication and social skills have changed. One such change has brought the creation of social stories. The social story is a strategy created by Carol Grey in 1995/1996 to help individuals with autism understand and appropriately follow specified social set of rules. Social stories address who, what, when, where and why of a certain social situation.
