�The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.�(Albert Einstein) This relates to the novel because nothing is done of the evil that is brewing on the island where the boys are stranded. In the novel, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Jack is the pure evil that changes him into a totally different person. Jack begins the novel as a somewhat arrogant choirboy, who cries when he is not elected leader of the island. Jack is gradually transformed into pure evil that is a vicious killer who has no respect for human life. Through many events in the novel, such as leading the choir, leading the hunting tribe, wearing the mask, killing Simon, separating from the group and intentionally killing Piggy, Jack transforms from a normal, arrogant school boy into a savage blood thirsty beast. At the beginning of the novel, Golding describes Jack's physical appearance as "inside the floating cloak he was tall, thin and bony; his hair was red beneath the black cap.
