Project Planning in Teams Jeff Downs Every job I have ever had has in some way shape or form involved project planning with a team. For example, my first job back in high school was as a short order cook. Now most people would assume that no real project planning takes place in that line of work but I would disagree. To feed a group of 15 people who have ordered a variety of different things does take a certain amount of project planning. For instance if three of the people in the group ordered chicken while seven ordered burgers and five ordered fish the cooks in the kitchen had to plan and organize the work to get the orders out at the same time. Because chicken takes significantly longer to cook than the other items the person responsible for cooking the burgers must wait until the chicken is nearly done before starting their task. Granted, this doesn�t seem like much of a project but according to The Website for Webster�s Dictionary (2007) a project is defined as �something that is contemplated, devised, or planned; plan; scheme.� Clearly three people working together t......
