�Bullying happens when someone hurts someone else on purpose.� (Grunsell, 1990) Bullying can be anything from name calling, damaging personal property, talking behind someone�s back to actual physical abuse. The effects of bullying can range from mild to severe. We are going to explain a few of the severe effects that bullying has on kids from sixth to twelfth grade. Bullying affects these kids and can lead to depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and sadly in some cases, suicide. Depression is becoming more prominent among kids who experience bullying. Bullying is a big deal in our country and it leaves behind scars and wounds that may never heal for some. Kids begin showing loss of interest, mood changes and seem to be distracted during the first stages of bullying. The child may have noticeable differences in grades and athletic performances. They keep their head down, show signs of loneliness and keep to themselves. We believe depression to be the first severe sign of bullying.
