The Korean War lasted from 1950 - 1953. It was not just an internal war but it was an important war in the event of the Cold War. The USA fought against the Soviet Union, or better: Caitalism against Communism. It resulted in the division of Korea into North Korea and South Korea at the 38th parallel. North Korea was led by Kim Il Sung, whereas South Korea was ruled by Syngran Rhee. It can also be said that "The Peoples Democratic Republic" in the North fought against "The Republic of Korea" in the South. There were several foreign forces in Korea; America, Russia, the UN and China. America had their influences in South Korea whereas Russia had their influences in North Korea. The UN collectively wanted to fight against the further spread of Communism in Asia and so sent troops of 15 different countries into Korea. As soon as these troops reached the Chinese boarder, China became afraid of further consequences and as Stalin asked the Chinese to aid in the Korean fight, it became involved aswell.
