Prejudice against people who are noticeably Overweight: To gather information and views about overweight people, I showed a picture of a considerably overweight person to the volunteers, and asked them to jot down the first few words or attributions that came in their mind. This helped me in devising an analysis of the general ideas about overweight people. I evaluated these on the basis of SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat). Following is the resulting categorisations that were made. OVERWEIGHT PEOPLE: Strength � They are warm, kind hearted, helpful, sweet, and down-to-earth people. � Not mean or stiff � Jolly, i.e. able to make jokes out of everything � Are able to swallow jokes made on them, even though they might feel the pain inside. Weakness � Low self esteem � Weight conscious: whine about losing weight but end up doing nothing about it. � Fitting in ready-made clothes is a problem � Portray diminished will-power � Clumsy � Not good at physical exercise Opportunity � Extreme cases: make use of bulk size and dominate. ......
