In one week, about 210,000 gallons of sewage is placed into the ocean from cruise ships (Grinning planet, 2005). Point source pollution has been happening for many years now and not just from cruise ships, in New York and other costal cities, they used to dump sewage into the Ocean (The ocean and fisheries, ch.11). Along with polluting the ocean with the garbage, it will also kill the species and plant life that is living in the ocean.
