Compare and contrast: “Nothings Changed” and “Still I Rise” Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Comparing and contrasting “Still I Rise” & “Nothings Changed” “Nothings Changed” and “Still I Rise” are poems showing how things have changed and how people have coped and survived and how the troubles the people have been through have made them stronger. Both of the poems also show the injustice to black people caused by the white people. In “Nothings Changed” the poet Tatamkulu Afrika starts off the poem with a lot of imagery about the surroundings that the person has come back to. The place used to be where the person lived and now it has been flattened in to waste land and the poet emphasises this by in the first two lines he writes “small round hard stones click under my heels”. This shows the drastic change from where he used to live and now all he can see and walk on is small round stones, where he wouldn’t have been able to do this before because there would have been homes and places where he and people he knew lived. Then on the next remaining lines left in the verse he goes on to describe how District Six has been left as a waste land to run wild. He describes th......
