Elastic Modulus of Metallic and Composite Materials Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
Summary
An experiment was carried out to measure the deflection on six specimens, three of them being metals, and three of them non-metals for a range of applied loads. The results were used to calculate the Young’s modulus of each material. The value of Young’s Modulus was compared with the actual value found in data books and they were found to be in good agreement.

Introduction
Materials undergo many stains and stresses in all environments, many of them are resisting a bending force causing the material to bend. I am undergoing this experiment to see how various materials deflect under a load applied to beams made of different materials. This is important in many modern structures as the have resist similar forces, for example wind.
