A Career in Electrical Engineering After some very extensive research, the career that I have chosen is that of an electrical engineer. Ever since I was young, I have loved to construct things, especially those of an electronic nature. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, electrical engineers apply the theories and principals of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems. In order to become a successful electrical engineer, one must have mathematical and scientific skills; and should be practical, logical, industrious and patient. Fortunately, I possess these skills and qualities that happen to be very useful to this career. For instance, every day engineers encounter problems, which require themselves to be practical and logical in order to come to a reasonable solution. In addition, engineers must be industrious and patient because at times one individual project may take a long time to finish.
