The unfolding of ancient Greek history and civilization is presented through Greek Literature. For many people Greek Literature began with two of the greatest and mature writtings which happen to be the Iliad and Odyssey. After about 50 years worth of research that was led by the work of Schilemann, that revealed a timeline of one thousand years before these two poetry were written (Leski7). This also reveals that their progress in life was very much advance then any other people in their time. No one can really say when the Greeks first began to push in from the north towards the southern Belkans, but it can be said for sure that it began before the second millennium B.C.. The Greeks began making their literature and their history with the Archaic period, The Hellenistic age and many of their mythologies of gods. With this they developed their way of living a life more so like the life that people live today, a life filled with entertainment. Entertainment today is very much inspired by the Greeks, with their myths.
