According to the word web online dictionary, driving force is "The act of applying force to propel something". driving force (working force) is a term used in different fields such as literature and it is usually used to refer to actions characters which relatively, strongly and highly affected the development of the literary work. In hamlet the female character (Gertrude) noticeably directed the actions to go in a certain way. That's what meant to be proved in this section. Queen Gertrude(Hamlet's mother) can be considered as a driving force in the play because her actions, manners and behaviors affected the series of the play's actions. One of the prominent steps which Gertrude takes and really make difference in the going on of the play is getting married to her brother-in-law(Hamlet's uncle),to the extent that Eliot(1922) believes that "Shakespeare's Hamlet …is a play dealing with the effect of the mother's guilt{marriage}upon her son. "Dall(2007)agrees either Eliot and said "the dilemma of the play …arises from the turns upon the meaning and dispotion of Gertrude's body". Th......
