Evil Lurks Beneath the Surface Have you ever wondered about the different sides to human nature and whether humansare born good or evil? Which of these are we really, or might we be a mix of the two? If you’ve heard of the novel called Lord of The Flies you’re probably already familiar with it’s main theme. According to the book’s author, Golding, the real human nature is evil and only shows in extreme situations such as the one in Lord of the Flies. In this story a group of boys were stranded on an island and had to learn how to take care of themselves and get along even when there were no rules. This brought out the worst in them because the boys became more violent, more competitive and abusive. The boys’ violent nature has evidently gotten worse as the book progressed. In the beginning, even though some of the boys disagreed on certain things (such as who should be chief) they never solved their conflicts through violence, but as the book progressed they turned more savage and they eve......
