Woodrow Wilsons Fourteen Points Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

In 1919, Woodrow Wilson issued the Fourteen Points at the Versailles Conference in hopes of resolving the First World War and future wars, and also creating a lasting peace. The Fourteen Points included an end to secret treaties, freedom of the seas, free trade, a large scale reduction of arms, and self determination. Wilson believed that all of these issues had helped cause the war. Wilson lastly called for a League of Nations to help keep peace in the future. Since 1919, The United States has and hasn’t lived up to Wilson’s fourteen points. The United States has lived up to some of Wilson’s fourteen points, like the end to secret treaties, freedom of the seas, and also self-determination. The United States hasn’t taken part in any secret treaties since the Versailles Treaty in 1919. Also, we would not know about any secret treaties as US Citizens. An example of a treaty that was non-secret was NATO, or the North Atlantic treaty organization. The members of NATO pledged to help one another if any one of them was attacked. The United States has both kept up and hasn’t kept up freed......
