i talk back at you, you hit me. i ignore you and turn away, you slap me. i run away from you, you lock me up in small spaces. i get ill, you throw me across the floor. i love you for being my father, you kill me. i wrote this poem to bring out the feelings of an abused child. a child abused by his/her father doesnt mean that he/she wont still love him. no matter what happens, a child can still love their family for giving them shelter and food, even if it is of poor quality. this poem explains that no matter what the child does, he/she is always abused. usually for talking back to a parent, you just get a bit shouted at but for an abused child you would be slapped or hit. not only is it taking things too far, it is wrong. a child who gets hurt for this kind of behaviour, looses their self esteem and will grow up not wanting to trust anyone in case they get hurt again. this is a horrible thing to do to someone as it limits what one person can do for the amount of time that they live. ignoring a parent isnt somthing you should be lashed out for. although it is rude ......
