On October 14th 2007, an extreme abuse of power was witnessed at the Vancouver International Airport. Robert Dziekanski was a Polish man traveling to Canada to visit his mother. Told to stay in the baggage claim, he waited for his mother for over ten hours. His mother, unable to find him, was told that he had never arrived. Unable to speak English he failed to communicate with all those who tried to help him. When police became involved in the picture the agitated but harmless man met his cruel and unfair death by electrocution. Paul Pritchard, a 25-year-old man making the trip home from China to Victoria, filmed the disturbing scene. In the film Dziekanski paces worriedly behind a glass wall. He tries repeatedly to ask people for help. After ten hours he is extremely disconcerted and throws a laptop computer at the glass wall. This is when the police arrive. One officer states, �He speaks Russian. Nobody can help him�. Concerned onlookers say �He�s so scared, just leave him�. Three more officers arrive.
