Millions of immigrants face many changes and challenges when coming to America. Leaving your home country is no easy task. Amir and Baba faced some of the same challenges. There are so many factors involved in getting a whole new life started somewhere that you are not familiar with. I think that the biggest challenge for Amir and Baba was trying to adjust to life in America, because in their home country Baba was very well-respected and he was rich. In America, Baba wasn�t held in such high regard. The book shows evidence of Amir and Baba�s struggle to adjust to life in America. It seems like Baba is having more trouble adjusting than Amir is. A good example of this is when Baba goes to a convenience store and tries to pay for food with a check. The store clerk asks for I.D. and after he asks Baba throws a fit. Baba thought that this was a trust issue. In Kabul, they used a stick with carvings as credit, there were no questions, no I.D, all you need was your word. I�m sure many immigrants struggled with things like this. When you have certain traditions and you go to a new country......
