ETHICAL STANDARDS FOR HUMAN RESEARCH During our team meeting we discussed the concerns associated with how researches involving human subjects are conducted and how the Nurember trials ensured the participates well being by instituting informed voluntary consent, assessing risk factor while maintaining privacy and confidentiality. It was rewarding to know the leadership role that the American Psychological Association took in order to provide guidance in the formulation of ethical principles and how the federal legislation created commissions and laws for the protections of human subjects. All of the efforts regarding the ethical standards for human research are definitely needed and should not only be considered when doing research, but also when dealing with how we treat each other everyday. There was no "irreconcilable differences" during our discussion, however Elizabeth did have a concerns and was not totally clear on was the explanation of risk.
