What is a Holocaust? To me a Holocaust is a mass murder or extermination of a particular group of people, either in a certain region or within a certain country. Throughout modern day history there has been several genocides which occurred after the �Holocaust� which took place in Germany during World War II. The events which occurred in areas such as Cambodia, Rwanda, and Bosnia may not be on as large of a scale as the �Holocaust� in Germany, but the ways in which people died was just as terrible. Not only did these events kill millions of people, but they happened during a time where we as a people are supposed to know from past events and not let them happen again. The people killed in these genocides were murdered for no particular reason other than the hatred from one group toward another. Rwanda is a country in Africa known for it�s turbulent past. Throughout the country�s history there has always been ethnic tension between the two main ethnic groups: the majority Hutus, and the minority Tutsis.
